Welcome to Tres Pelicanos
Tres Pelicanos (trehs peh-lee-kah-nohs or Three Pelicans or simply 3P) started its Cozumel scuba shop in 2012 with a fast boat named the Skinny Shark. At that time, we were the first dive boat in the Cozumel marina to have a 300 hp Yamaha motor. We have since evolved with another boat called the Loan Shark and each of those vessels is now powered by 350 hp Yamaha motors.
Yes, our boats are fast! – our dive shop is renowned for getting scuba divers out to Cozumel dive sites, even the furthest sites such as Colombia, Punta Sur and Maracaibo, quickly and safely. Depending on wind and weather, group consensus decides which reefs to dive; and our boat captains will drop you right on top of the perfect spot.
A Valet Dive Operation
We are a valet dive operation or a full service dive shop. By this we mean that you drop your equipment off at the dive shop and we do the rest. If you need dive Rental Gear, we will get you fitted at the dive shop. Everything will be in your dive bag or one that we will supply; it will have your name tag attached ready for your dives. When you get to the boat you will find all your dive equipment all set up ready to go. Once you have completed your last dive of the day, we ask that you just put everything back in your bag and it will get transported back to the dive shop where it will be rinsed and hung. The next day you will find it set back up on a tank waiting for you.
Our Cozumel Dive Shop
Tres Pelicanos Dive Shop is located on Calle 5 between Melgar (the ocean street) and Avenida 5. We are in the orange building just past the International Hospital. Clients staying in the downtown area can walk to the dive shop. Please arrive at or before 7:40. If you need to be fitted for equipment, be at the shop at 7:30. If staying beyond walking distance to the shop, clients will need to taxi to the marina. There are numerous taxis stationed in front of all hotels along the ocean road. Ask your hotel to get a taxi for your transport to the marina.
Divers staying south of the marina will be picked up by the dive boat. Be aware that some hotels on the water charge a pier fee. We do not cover this fee. You can also meet us at the Cozumel Fonatur Marina.
We ask that everyone arrive at the shop by 7:40 so we can get you off to the boat and into the water. The boat leaves the marina at 8:00 AM for our morning Dive Trips and 1:30 PM for afternoon dive trips. Divers staying south of the marina will be picked up by the dive boat. Be aware that some hotels on the water charge a pier fee for us to pick up from. We do not cover this fee. You can also meet us at the Cozumel Fonatur Marina. See our Dive Shop Location information for directions on how to find us there.
Scuba divers come to Cozumel to experience drift diving, our tremendous reef structures and extraordinary marine life. Regardless whether they are experienced technical divers, or recreational scuba divers with budding experience or those intrepid individuals who come to take our PADI Open Water class, they all leave the Island belonging to our Pelican family.
Many scuba divers return to Cozumel again after making new dive friends while on the boat and soon we have groups of dive buddies who return to Tres Pelicanos Dive Center to catch up on lives, and of course to dive again. We like to say these special groups are doing a land liveaboard.
